Great Products, Prices, and Service in a Warm, Supportive Environment

Hi, My name is Nancy and along with my husband of 42 years, Cal, we are Ebay ID calbeanie02 and etsy seller weavespin.  We have been in business since 1978 here in Southern California, out of our home as Custom Handweaving.

We are a supplier to the weavers, beaders, knitters and the spinners in the Southern California area. I have always been a stitcher and knitter since Girl Scouts.  I became interested in Weaving when taking a UCLA extension class and got my first loom as a bet with my DH in 1974. I have been very active over the years in the Southern California Handweaver’s Guild.  The Greater Los Angeles Spinners Guild has made me an honorary member because I bring my spinning supplies to their monthly meetings.

Since taking a class at Convergence Cincinnati in 1988 from Virginia Blakelock and Carol Pernoud, I’ve been HOOKED on beading.  Since then, I’ve taken classes whenever and wherever I could. I especially like to make jewelry using Swarovski crystals. I also do French Beaded Flowers, after taking many of Arlene Baker’s classes. In 2004, I even attended Bead and Button. Fantastic! 2007 saw me at Bead Expo in Oakland. Too much fun! 2008 & 2009 saw me at Beads on the Vine. And 2010 will also see me there.

Just recently our website has been started and I am slowly learning how to use it.  I will be posting more and more offerings, especially fiber,  books, yarns, beads, and spinning supplies.  We carry a vast selection of books, especially all of the Interweave Press Books.  Come by and check out our site as it grows.

In January of 2009 Nancy's Computer crashed!  Very little was recovered and the backup disks were out of date. After more than a year I am reinventing the wheel.  The things I missed most were the scanned pictures and product descriptions.

Congratulations Nancy!

Nancy's work appeared in the "The Big Bang Theory" on October 15, 2007.  Nancy was commissioned by Warner Brother TV Studios to weave an "over the top" poncho for the show. Additionally Nancy worked on the stage set providing a warped loom and then training the actor how to weave.
